Dear school community,

The College Resource Library is thrilled to be celebrating Booktacular 2025 next week, our week-long literary event held during Book Week.

The week of fun includes the following;

1. P-12 Book Character Costume Parade & Picnic.

When: Monday August 25th, 9:10am – 11am approx.
Where: Front lawn, Fischer St. (Please see the attached map as a guide).
Who: All P-12 students and staff. We welcome all families to come along.

Students are to arrive at school as normal. Roles will be marked before classroom teachers accompany students to the location.
Food and coffee vans will be onsite and available to all attendees at your own cost. We invite families to stay and enjoy a picnic recess as a college.

2. Presenter Sessions:

Students will have the opportunity to take part in sessions throughout the week within their classes. These sessions will appear on their Compass timetable. Their classroom teachers are informed and will bring them to these sessions.
When: Monday August 25th – Friday August 29th (varied times, see individual timetable)

3. Book Fair:

The Scholastic Book Fair also returns during Book Week! We will be open to staff, students, and the school community every lunchtime and after school until 4pm.
When: Monday August 25th – Friday August 29th (all week)
Where: The College Resource Library
Who: all students, staff, parents, and school community.

A reminder that we will be open additionally on;
Wednesday 27th: open from 3:30-5:30pm at the Library Expo Night
Friday 29th: open from 5pm-7pm at the P-12 Library Movie Night

4. Senior Book Sale:

Booktacular 2025 presents a Senior Book Sale run by The Resource Library in addition to the Scholastic Book Fair! Selling a range of senior fiction and young adult books to students and staff across years 7-12.
When: Tuesday August 26th, lunchtime (1:20-2:15pm)
Where: The College Music Centre (Daya Building)
Who: all secondary students and staff.

5. Community events:

Library Expo Night:
Wednesday August 27, 3:30-5:30pm at The College Resource Library.

P-12 Library Movie Night:
Friday August 29, 5-7pm at The College Resource Library. (FREE event, booking required).

WEATHER UPDATES

At this stage we are not expecting any wet weather forecast for Monday the 25th, however, we will monitor this and provide updates to families on both Compass and social media if this does occur.
